Endowed by the artist Michael Müller and the art collector Geraldine Michalke, the Alien Athena Foundation for Art is dedicated to the further development of the exhibition platform Kunstsaele Berlin, which has been in existence since 2010. Like the Kunstsaele Berlin, which has already realized over 130 exhibitions, the non-profit foundation is committed to the diversity of artistic expression in a wide variety of media.
In addition to its publishing activities, which begin with the publication of Michael Müller's catalog raisonné, the Alien Athena Foundation for Art focuses on promoting exhibitions and participating in and shaping the international art discourse in all its social significance. In order to offer artists a free space for artistic development, a sponsorship award for performance will be offered, which thematically follows Müller's Kleine Proben für Nietzsches Geburtstagsparty 2313 and is intended to stimulate the discourse around new intermediary concepts.
